Defining Core Competencies for the Professional Long-Term Care Workforce: A Status Report and Next Steps
A status report compiled by LeadingAge's Institute of the Future of Aging Services (IFAS) on the current state of training for the long-term care workforce. The report also identifies areas of core competencies that should be required in all long-term care training. It looks at two major areas:
- How well health care professionals are being trained to care for older adults and the initiatives underway to improve that training
- What’s being done to define the competencies needed by professionals in long-term care settings
