September: A Great Month for Geriatrics Education Advocacy on Capitol Hill

September was an important month for geriatrics workforce education advocacy on Capitol Hill.  Between the introduction of the Geriatrics Workforce and Caregiver Enhancement Act (H.R. 3731), the inclusion of much of that bill’s language in Chairman Burgess’ bill The Empower Act (H.R. 3728), that would reauthorize several programs under Title VII, and multiple hearings in the House and Senate that included witnesses that lead GWEP efforts in Texas and Florida, September has been a blockbuster month showcasing all of the amazing accomplishments of those doing geriatrics education throughout the country.
