The Alzheimer’s Association recently released their 2020 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report. The report provides a statistical overview and analysis of Alzheimer’s prevalence, mortality, caregiving, and increasing costs as well as a special report on those living alone with Alzheimer’s. The report also contains data on the impact of the disease in every state across the nation.
Some facts highlighted in the report are:
-13.8 million people age 65 and older are projected to have Alzheimer’s dementia by 2050
-1 in 3 people seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia
-More than 16 million Americans provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer’s or other dementias.
