The Alzheimer’s Association recently released their 2012 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report. The report provides a statistical overview and analysis of Alzheimer’s prevalence, mortality, caregiving, and increasing costs as well as a special report on those living alone with Alzheimer’s. The report also contains data on the impact of the disease in every state across the nation.

By 2050, up to 16 million will have Alzheimer’s
In 2011, 15.2 million family and friends provided 17.4 billion hours of unpaid care to those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias – care valued at $210.5 billion.
